I love weddings that truly reflect the couple themselves, so when Stephanie and Myles contacted me to photograph their Calgary wedding, I was super excited because both are super talented chefs at Cassis Bistro and were planning on making the food a really important part of their special day.
From the intimate ceremony at the beautiful Reader’s Rock Garden, surrounded by their closest love ones where the bride opted for a more natural feel of no shoes (and can we really blame her?), to an incredible dinner chef’d up by none other than the groom himself (with help from his awesome groomsmen), the day was completely them. For some people, getting ready with the bridesmaids and groomsmen is really important however on this day, the energy in that kitchen with the boys preparing the meal for all the guests was an experience I won’t soon forget. It was a really cool take on getting ready photos. I’m finding more and more couples moving away from the aspects of a traditional wedding and rather opting for moments that feel more like them as a couple. And I loved it. Plus there was a bonus. I became the official taste tester in that kitchen. Definitely no complaints here.
Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Bayer. May your life be filled with more incredible food + many adventures together. Thank you for choosing me to be your wedding photographer and for filling my belly with all that deliciousness.
