Cameron and Nicole’s Chic and Unforgettable Venue308 Summer Wedding

Cameron and Nicole’s Venue308 summer wedding in Calgary was an unforgettable celebration of love and fun. They hired the dream team of Calgary wedding vendors to pull off their gorgeous and modern celebration.

There were so many beautiful touches to Cameron and Nicole’s wedding day. We got ready at the venue itself. I love that Venue308 and their sister venue, The Brownstone, provide both partners with stunning rooms to get ready in.

The couple did their heartfelt first look on site and then the three of us headed out for the couple’s portraits at some of my favourite downtown Calgary locations. I absolutely love adding an architectural element to the wedding day images.

We met up with the wedding party and had the most fun getting that New York vibe with shots in the alley and then the whole party went for beers to Cold Garden. Yes beers! This is exactly what I mean when I say that this couple incorporated fun in the most awesome and beautiful ways throughout their entire day. The bride’s adorable Dad picked up the couple from the brewery in his antique Model A Ford and escorted them back to say their I Do’s.

The ceremony was officiated by none other than the father of the groom, making it even more special and personal for the couple. During the ceremony, Cameron and Nicole played an impromptu game of rock, paper, scissors to decide who would start with their vows first, adding yet another playful touch to the day.

The reception was a chic and elegant affair with stunning floral arrangements and decor that perfectly complemented the venue’s modern charm. I loved the look on the couple’s face when Ashley Dawn of Fiore Fine Events revealed the room to them. It was perfect! Everything was perfect! The guests were gorgeous and the food was incredible! The vibe was everything you could hope for and more.

After the wedding, I asked my couple a few questions about their incredibly special day and here’s what they had to say…

What was your most anticipated part of the day?
The vows.

What ended up being your favourite part of the day?
Sitting with Cam at our sweetheart table for a quiet moment to soak in the day together. It was the only chance we had to really check in with each other and it was so special.

What advice would you give to future couples for their wedding?
Be considerate and thoughtful about details that matter to you leading up the day and then let everything go on the day of and just be present. Nothing else matters except your happiness that day!

Were you nervous?
Not really!

What was the biggest surprise on your wedding day?
The overwhelming happiness that pours into every single aspect of the day. Pure unbridled joy that just flows out of you and the people around you. And carries forward in the days to follow.

What song did you walk down the aisle to?
Stone- Alessia Cara, Sebastian Cole

What song played for your first dance?
ILYSB- Lany

What are you looking forward to as a married couple?
Adventures, milestones, and settling into somewhat slower pace. It’s been a little crazy for the past two years!
