Ryan and Courtney’s Sparkling New Year’s Eve Wedding at The Brownstone in Calgary was a true celebration of love and new beginnings.

I had the pleasure of capturing their special day and being a part of their love story. From getting ready at the Marriott Hotel in downtown Calgary with their closest friends to the gorgeous ceremony and reception at The Brownstone, every moment was filled with joy and excitement.

With winters being extremely cold in Calgary, we decided to rent the stunning Study Studio for the couple to have their First Look and share their private vows. The space was perfect for the intimate moment and the couple’s love for each other was evident. This was one of Courtney and Ryan’s favourite parts of their wedding day. They said it was so magical to see each other privately and to just have a moment to take it all in. They appreciated that they could be much more vulnerable and honest with just the two of them than they would have been in front of 150 guests. It was truly a magical moment and I was honoured to capture it.

Their advice to future wedding couples is “DO A FIRST LOOK! Your day is so busy that you barely get any one on one time and this is such a special time to just focus on each other and get to privately take it all in. Also highly recommend private vows. For us it made it so much more special to have that just between us.”

After the First Look, the wedding party picked us up and we hopped around downtown Calgary for their wedding party pictures. The cityscape provided a stunning backdrop for the photos and we were able to capture the essence of the city as well as the couple’s love for each other.

The ceremony and reception at The Brownstone was absolutely stunning. The venue was decorated with greenery hanging from the ceilings and gorgeous monochromatic white florals by the talented Carly of Chickweed Florals. Melissa Dawn Event Designs did an incredible job bringing the couple’s vision to life and creating a modern and elegant atmosphere.

The speeches from Courtney and Ryan’s family were heartfelt and had everyone both crying and laughing. It was clear that this couple is deeply loved and supported by their family and friends. The evening was filled with laughter, tears, and most importantly, love.

The dinner provided by Food Works was incredible and the guests were treated to a delicious and decadent meal. The service was impeccable and the guests were all impressed with the food. Local DJ took us into the evening with epic beats while guests had fun getting photo booth photos done by The Local Booth.
