As a Calgary engagement photographer with over a decade of experience, I know that being in front of the camera can feel unfamiliar—and sometimes a bit awkward at first. Most couples feel that way going in, and it’s often the part they’re most unsure about. But I can promise you this—that’s about to change.

We’re always moving, shifting locations, finding new light, and keeping things feeling fresh and easy. It’s more like a date night—with just enough direction to bring out your personalities without ever making it feel staged. It’s how I approach every engagement session—keeping things natural, relaxed, and full of movement.

Most couples come in saying they feel awkward in photos—and leave saying it was way more fun than they expected. I guide you in a way that feels natural and keeps things moving, so you’re never left wondering what to do, while still leaving space for real moments to unfold. The result is a relaxed, enjoyable experience and photos that genuinely reflect how it felt to be there.

You’re not alone—most couples feel this way at the start. The difference is how the session is led, and I’ll guide you the entire time so you’re never left guessing, while creating an environment that feels easy and relaxed. Within the first 10–15 minutes, most couples settle in and forget the camera is even there.

Light plays a huge role in how your photos look, so I typically plan sessions around golden hour—about two hours before sunset—for that soft, flattering light. Sunrise sessions are also a beautiful option if you prefer quieter locations and a slower start to the day, and I’ll guide you on timing based on your location and overall vision.

Once you’re booked, you’ll receive my Engagement & Couples Photography Client Guide with outfit suggestions and examples to help you feel prepared and confident. The goal is to choose pieces that feel like you, photograph well together, and fit the setting, and I’m always happy to help you make final decisions if you need a second opinion.

If the forecast isn’t looking great, I’ll reach out to talk through options, as Calgary weather can change quickly and I typically make the final call closer to your session. If needed, we’ll reschedule to make sure you get the best possible conditions and overall experience.

You’ll receive Sneak Peeks within 2-3 weeks of your session, with your full gallery delivered within 4-6 weeks. Your images are shared through a professional online gallery where you can easily download, share, and order prints.

Yes, all images come with a full print release so you’re free to print and share them as you’d like. You’ll also have access to a curated gallery shop with high-quality print and album options if you’d like something more elevated for your home.

To reserve your session, a signed contract and 50% retainer are required, with the remaining balance due two weeks before your session. Payments can be made by credit card or e-transfer, making the process simple and straightforward.
