I’m super excited to blog this stylish Calgary Newborn Family Photography session welcoming baby Avery to the world. Wait until you see this family! Can you say perfection?!

The second I walked into Devon and Matt’s incredibly stylish and modern home, I knew it was going to be a great session. I was greeted by the wagging tail of the couple’s adorable pup Ivy and you all know how much I love including the four legged children into my family sessions, so we were off to a great start. And then I met the sweetest and most adorable little girls ever. I can already see that these two will be the best of friends as they grow up. Wait until you see their sweet little faces!

My intention with these sessions is to be as relaxed and comfortable as possible. I always say to my clients that I want you to feel as if you’ve invited me over for coffee and I happen to have my camera along. My goal is never to pose you but rather to initiate activities that you would normally do with your children that will elicit beautiful yet natural moments, such as everyone piling into bed to read a good book.

My favorite thing about lifestyle newborn photography is capturing the dynamic between the family members. Newborns are incredible but so is the love in the air. I call this the happy bubble. Memories of this time-frame often become fuzzy for new parents and that is exactly why I feel these types of sessions are so important.
