Kananaskis Lakes Fall Family Session

With four boys under the age of 7, The Smith Family came all the way to Canada from North Carolina for their Kananaskis Lakes Fall Family Session.

Mom Jaclyn reached out to me in 2018 that her family was making the trip to Canada the following Fall to celebrate their oldest son’s 7th birthday. What makes this family incredibly special is that rather than do birthday parties and gifts, they do trips as a family instead! And you should see the adventures that they have been on! Literally incredible.

I was so honoured that she reached out to me to document their first time to Canada and so I really wanted to give them the full mountain adventure experience. What better place for 360 degree views of the mountains than Kananaskis Lakes? And they were coming at the perfect time! The fall colours were gorgeous.

Never in my wildest dreams would I imagine that it would be one of the best days of my career. We just hit it off the second they pulled up, as if we had known each other forever!  Jaclyn and I still stay in touch to this day.  At the time of our family session, the boys were 7, 5, 3, and 14 months so I didn’t quite know what to expect with this age range but the second I met this family, I knew we were going to have the best adventure. And we did!

I have never met more polite, fun and outgoing children in my life! They were inquisitive and asking ME questions throughout the entire session. Each one had his own fun yet unique personality so it was super great to spend time with each of them individually. It’s important to me that you not only receive great family photos as a whole but that you get individuals images of each family member too.

A few amazing words from Jacklyn after receiving her Family Session:

“Would watching this video/slideshow multiple times in a row while crying be a normal response to a photo shoot?? Because that is exactly what is happening here! And the song you picked! This is amazing! I will cherish these, the memories, this trip, our time with you, forever. Thank you for capturing this for our family. Oh i want to go back! Except the snow. That part is not as appealing! But it is 90 and humid here…. so maybe snow would be better!!

No Jacklyn, trust me…snow is definitely not better. The second we can travel again, I’m coming to you and your beaches lol!
