This is my favourite time of year for family photos and this Bow River Fall Family Session with gorgeous huskies is no exception!

I’m a big believer that the location is so important for family photos. Especially ones involving the dog children like these gorgeous huskies. Super love you crazy dog people by the way! Have you read my POST on Including Dogs in Your Family Photo Session? My main priority is always safety so I try to pick a location that is safe for your little ones and also somewhere I would feel good taking my own dogs. I love when we have the freedom to explore and let the children and dogs be free. Is there anything greater in the entire world?

These three have been close personal friends for a few years now and I’m so excited when we get the opportunity to go on a little adventure every year to document their growing family. My goal is to give you an experience. I want us to have fun! My intention is for the parents to relax and to get a bit of a break. I also promise that you’ll all sleep like babies after our session together. I even ask my clients to send me footage of the kids and dogs snoring! It’s awesome!

Not only was the weather absolutely fantastic, but our dogs actually behaved for once. It was like a blue moon had risen that morning. Probably helps that Sue and her husband have the cutest fur family and love and treat their dogs with upmost respect. Their expertise translated directly into our session, as we walked about with the dogs, and played by the riverside. With her husband by her side, we had enough people to keep the dogs close by, yet completely entertained. They even posed for the camera a few times.

The energy Sue carries is just so fun and engaging, it was hard not to enjoy her company. I felt as if we were just hanging out by the river with a couple of friends, doing what old friends do. Laughing, fishing, playing fetch. Not once did I feel out of place, too posed or untrue to myself.

Every picture we got back, I can clearly see our personalities, and our story. Sue Moodie Photography goes further than just taking your everyday headshot or newborn photo. This woman is truly able to capture the essence of what she sees. While we were shooting, I remember her saying she’s not able to perform magic. But seeing her in action and having these pictures proves that she does, as a matter of fact, perform magic. I can almost see the photos coming to life like in Harry Potter!”
