Michelle and Thomas’s journey began during their undergraduate years at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. Although they knew each other, they never connected personally until years later at the Calgary Stampede. After a week of missed chances, Michelle finally invited Thomas to a BBQ at her place, which led to a month spent mostly together. Michelle eventually had to return to Toronto to finish her law degree, and they embarked on a long-distance relationship for eight months. Despite the challenges, their love grew stronger.

Their story took an exciting turn when they went on a two-week trip to Italy. Thomas had planned to propose on a beautiful terrace in Otranto, but the weather had other ideas. Determined, he carried the ring around for several more nerve-wracking days, searching for the perfect place. Finally, during a hike in Matera, Thomas asked a stranger to take their photo. Seizing the moment, he got down on one knee and asked the big question. Michelle, caught off guard, happily said yes, marking a significant milestone in their relationship.

Michelle and Thomas share a deep love for outdoor activities. They enjoy hiking, backcountry camping, and exploring nature together. Their ideal date would be a BBQ picnic in Bragg Creek, where they can combine their love for the outdoors with good food and each other’s company.

As their wedding day approaches, Michelle and Thomas eagerly anticipate celebrating with their loved ones. With family and friends traveling from various parts of Canada and the United States, it will be a joyous occasion, bringing everyone together under one roof for the first time. They are especially excited about the heartfelt speeches from their friends, as they know it will be a touching and memorable experience.
