Love in the Badlands: Danielle and Brett’s Summer Engagement Photography at Horseshoe Canyon

I had the pleasure of photographing Danielle and Brett’s Love in the Badlands Engagement Photography Session last summer at Horseshoe Canyon in Drumheller, Alberta. The rugged landscape and stunning natural beauty of the Badlands provided a perfect backdrop for this fun and romantic engagement session.

From the moment I met them, I could feel the love and excitement between Danielle and Brett. They were so thrilled to be taking their engagement photos, and their adorable puppy Koda definitely added an extra level of cuteness to the shoot.

We started the session with some fun shots on the Canyon floor. Danielle and Brett were so comfortable in front of the camera, laughing and joking with each other and with me. Their love for each other was infectious, and it was evident in every photo. We then took a stroll for some playful shots with Koda. She was such a good girl, posing for the camera and adding an extra level of fun to the session. Wait until you see the shots of Koda with Danielle’s amazing shoes!

Finally, we headed back up to the top of the Canyon where I captured some more intimate moments between the couple as the sun was setting. They were so sweet together, holding hands and stealing kisses as I snapped away.

It was an amazing engagement session, and I was honoured to be a part of it. Danielle and Brett are such a wonderful couple, and I can’t wait to see them tie the knot this year at one of my favorite wedding venues- Venue308. The couple expressed their excitement about the architecture, style, intimacy, getting ready rooms, and brick of the venue, which are all key elements that make Venue308 such an exceptional location for a wedding.

As a Calgary wedding photographer, I have photographed many weddings at Venue308 and have always been impressed by its charm, beauty, and unique features. It is a venue that truly captures the essence of romance, intimacy, and elegance. Its architectural details, combined with its rustic charm, create the perfect backdrop for stunning wedding photographs that will be treasured for a lifetime.

If you are currently planning your wedding and looking for a unique and breathtaking location for your engagement photos, Horseshoe Canyon in Drumheller is definitely worth considering. This location offers stunning vistas and rugged landscapes that provide a perfect backdrop for a romantic and unforgettable photo shoot.  I would definitely come back time and time again to capture the beauty of this location. I encourage couples to bring their furry friends along for the ride, just like Danielle and Brett did with their adorable puppy Koda. It is always a pleasure to photograph couples and their pets, as it adds an extra level of fun and intimacy to the session.

Engagement sessions are a great way for couples to capture their love and excitement before their wedding day. These sessions are an opportunity to get comfortable in front of the camera, to bond with your photographer, and to create a set of beautiful images that will capture this special time in your life. As a wedding photographer, I always encourage my clients to consider an engagement session as part of their wedding photography package.
