Elisabeth and Jesse’s gorgeous downtown Calgary spring wedding day was everything you would hope for with a June wedding. It rained just a little bit. The perfect amount to be honest. The amount that brings good fortune and luck. And with it, the most memorable and beautiful day.

It’s always been a dream to photograph in an old church with creaky floors and gorgeous stained glass light. What an experience to get to do this at the 100 year old Hillhurst United Church. These two decided that the first time they would see each other that day would be at their ceremony. What a truly emotional and beautiful choice.

Another thing I loved about this wedding was that the wedding party was all female! Jesse’s sisters were his grooms ladies and let me tell you, this made for such an epic time during wedding party photos. I truly can’t remember laughing so hard. Any man who can handle this level of female awesomeness deserves a high five. Way to go Jesse!

The reception was held at the Wildwood Community Centre. It was the perfect venue for a smaller wedding. The venue is surrounded by a green space and cute little community garden. I absolutely LOVED that Elisabeth chose to go with hanging lights throughout the venue. It adds such a romantic feel to the space. It also does amazing things for great lighting and ambiance in your photos.

We went into the evening eating amazing food and listening to super heart felt speeches. Had a pretty hard time containing myself when Elisabeth’s Dad started playing videos from family out East that couldn’t be there in person. Again, such a thoughtful touch. But the speeches ended in massive laughter with a surprise performance by the epic wedding party themselves doing a rendition of “Jesse’s Girl”. Yup, Jesse’s girl lol.

Thank you Elisabeth and Jesse for including me in your beautiful day. Every single gorgeous detail felt like you two. I wish you a lifetime of happiness.
