A Beautiful Invermere Barn Wedding: Love, Horses, and Mountains
When I received a wedding inquiry from Stacey and Erin, I knew their Invermere barn wedding would be something truly special. Their description of a horse farm wedding near the mountains instantly captured my attention, and I couldn’t wait to document their love story. Little did I know that this wedding would not only be a celebration of their union but also a testament to the beauty of Invermere and the incredible people I would meet along the way.
As luck would have it, I happened to be in Invermere with my husband and dogs during April, which gave me the opportunity to explore the area and get a sense of its charm. Invermere is a beloved summer destination for many Albertans, and I was grateful to experience its tranquility during the quieter months. It quickly became one of our favorite places to visit, with its stunning landscapes and warm atmosphere.
When my husband and I visited the horse farm in Invermere where Stacey and Erin would tie the knot, we were blown away. The House of the Friesians was not only visually stunning, but the owners, Gerard and Caio, were the epitome of kindness and hospitality. Their dedication to their land and horses was evident, and I knew that they genuinely cared about creating an unforgettable experience for their clients.
Despite being in the midst of fire season, and the mountain views partially obscured, the location still held an undeniable charm. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, and an abundance of dogs that seemed to fill every corner, the wedding weekend unfolded perfectly. What made it even more special was the absence of a strict schedule. Stacey and Erin chose to go with the flow, allowing the day to unfold naturally. It created a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere that everyone embraced. And to top it off, we were treated to divine meals prepared by a personal chef hired for the occasion.
For their portrait session, the three of us hopped into my truck, guided by Gerard, and ventured down an old logging road that led us to an abandoned sawmill. Exploring the area together was an adventure filled with laughter and unforgettable moments. We returned to an incredible dinner accompanied by heartfelt speeches, followed by dancing under the starlit sky. It was a night of pure joy and celebration.
Erin and Stacey, thank you for not only allowing me to capture your special day but also for making me feel like a part of your family. To your loved ones, thank you for embracing me as well and creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I am grateful that our friendship continues to this day. I cherish both of you dearly and cannot wait to visit again soon.
Invermere and its breathtaking beauty served as the backdrop for a love-filled celebration. From the charming barn to the majestic mountains, this wedding was a testament to the power of love and the incredible connections formed on such special occasions. It is a privilege to document stories like Stacey and Erin’s, and I am grateful to have been a part of their unforgettable Invermere barn wedding.
A few words after the wedding from my amazing brides:
“We found Sue by chance. We had no idea how well she would blend in with our friends and family, but amazingly she seemed like she knew us all forever! She took amazing engagement photos and even better wedding photos. We felt so comfortable with her which really shows in our photos. Everyone who has seen them comment on how stunning/beautiful/gorgeous they are. She was worth the investment, and we are so happy to have chosen her to document our amazing day! Thank you so much Sue, Erin and I will truly treasure our photos forever!”
