There are certain people in your life who leave lasting impressions. Nathan and Dionne are two of those people for me. Our friendship started many years ago in my former career, and from the moment I started working with the entire Wong family, I wanted to be adopted. Sue Wong Photography…definitely has a ring to it.
Speaking of ring, I was absolutely elated when Nathan popped the question to Dionne and they asked me to photograph their Wedding at the insanely beautiful Vancouver Convention Centre. Although we had lots of rain which is definitely common for Vancouver, nothing could dampen the excitement of this day.
Witnessing the traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony where Dionne wore an elegant cheongsam designed by Lillian Io was a first for me and watching Nathan “barter” for his future wife was very funny. Dionne then changed into her stunning Truvelle Bridal gown with Daphne Newman Veil and then came the shoes. Blue, yes blue, Prada pumps. Swoon.
From adventures under bridges, to macaron delights at the famous Soirette Pastry Boutique where we also took some fun bridal party portraits (thanks Soirette!), this day was filled with so much laughter and love. And then came the venue. Wow! I can seriously say that I have never been in such a beautiful space in my life. The ladies of Smitten Events transformed the space into a dream. They are seriously amazing at what they do. Every little detail throughout the whole day was handled. With colourful hanging lanterns and elegant table settings, a 5 star dinner and a Soirette Wedding Cake so beautiful it was almost too hard to eat (almost!), this truly was the perfect day. Thank you Jordan and Francesca. I cannot wait to work with you again. You are the epitome of elegance and professionalism.
To Nathan + Dionne, thank you from the bottom of my heart for including me in what became one of the best weekends of my life and probably one of the best parties I have ever been to. Your amazing family and friends are a direct reflection of the incredible people that you both are! Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Wong and I wish you a life of unlimited happiness together.
