Sunset Inspired Bridal Portrait | Editorial
“then, she began to breathe, and live, and every moment took her to a place where goodbyes were hard to come by. she was in love, but not with someone or something, she was in love with her life. and for the first time, in a long time, everything was inspiring.” r.m. drake

I was feeling inspired by our incredible sunsets. I mean, who isn’t these days. It’s so unfortunate and bittersweet that this amazing hazy light is being caused by such devastation with the wildfires in British Columbia. For this particular bridal portrait editorial, I chose to see the beauty in that light to create something special and will continue to pray in the meantime for those who have been affected by the fires.
I love to take drives into the countryside. I like to find random dirt roads and simply follow them. Alberta is such a beautiful place. There wasn’t much of a plan for this particular creative session. All I knew is that I wanted to photograph a bride in green fields with beautiful sunset light. So with the help of my gorgeous and very talented model friend Eloise Yaskiw and a one-of-a-kind stunning pink couture custom wedding gown, handmade by the incredibly talented Nicole Rita Tomney of NRT Fashions, we set out into fields of green.
I definitely think we created magic. I felt transported to another world. This session ended up having a very “Game of Thrones” feel to it for me. Eloise’s strong features with that insanely coloured hair paired against the softest and most delicate pink dress, was an absolute delight to my senses.
